Central Coast Sliding Door Hardware

Sliding doors are excellent for space saving but have other benefits besides that for both commercial and domestic properties. Whether it is an interior or exterior entry, sliding doors can be both a practical and attractive addition to your home of office. Sliding doors can even be added to your wardrobe, closet or bathroom for convenience.

What is a sliding door?

A sliding door runs along a top and bottom track, mostly the top track. They can open from the left to the right. Tracks can be exposed or concealed, and the door can either slide into a cavity or run externally against a wall (such as a barn door).

Sliding Door Hardware - What are the Benefits to Sliding Doors?

There are many benefits and advantages to having sliding doors installed. These are our top benefits:

Space Saving

One of the most obvious benefits to sliding doors is that they save space. Hinged doors need space as they swing open, however sliding doors operate sideways. This makes them perfect for smaller rooms, or cupboards & wardrobes. The side to side operation allows the door to have a wider access. Double sliding doors can open to the left and right leaving a large space to access a room. Ideal if you have big furniture to move.

Sliding doors can also be used to partition off rooms to give the option of creating two smaller rooms or one larger room.

Glass sliding doors are ideal for maximising light in a room. This helps to create a nice bright interior.

Indoor/ Outdoor flow and Space

Glass sliding doors also offer the illusion of more space or a larger room, especially when being used for the patio or other out facing doors. Having light come in like this can help to keep down energy bills by not having to turn lights on till later in the afternoon/ evening. Even when being used for interior doors, the extra light helps to open up rooms, giving the illusion of space.

Installing sliding doors adds a nice aesthetic to any home. They provide a sleek and simple look that harmonises with most architectural styles, as well as being extremely functional and practical design that maximises natural light, outdoor views and easy functionality.
